Utenos Kolegija/ HEI is the only higher education institution in the Eastern Aukštaitija region providing professionally oriented higher college studies focused on practical training.
The institution prepares specialists in technology, informatics, engineering, health sciences, social sciences, business and public administration, law, and agricultural sciences, meeting the needs of both the regional and national labour markets.
Utena University of Applied Sciences consists of the Faculty of Business and Technologies and the Faculty of Medicine. Currently, approximately 1,800 students are enrolled. A competent academic staff and a strong teaching and learning infrastructure ensure high‑quality theoretical and practical preparation. The institution widely applies advanced technologies and interactive teaching methods in the learning process.
The institution actively participates in national and international higher education, implementing relevant study and research projects. The key strengths that distinguish Utena University of Applied Sciences from other higher education institutions include unique study programmes (Dental Technology, Oral Care, Occupational Safety and Environmental Engineering, etc.); individualised and accessible studies tailored to student needs; extensive e‑learning opportunities; and strong social partnerships with regional and national businesses.
Cooperation with social partners takes place in various forms: company representatives contribute to the development and improvement of study programmes, participate in final thesis defence and examination committees, accept students for internships, and employ graduates. The university also organises joint events, conferences, and projects with partners, conducts applied research, and provides targeted scholarships for students.
Following an international external evaluation carried out in 2021, Utena University of Applied Sciences was accredited for the maximum period of 7 years.
