Permanent status was granted to Utena University of Applied Sciences in 2005.
Following the amendment and supplement to the Law on Higher Education and Studies by Law No X-769, dated July 8, 2006, Utena UAS graduates have been awarded a Professional Bachelor’s qualifying degree. On July 18, 2012, by the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania No 948, upon the adoption of the Statute of Utena UAS, the legal status of Utena UAS has changed – from a budgetary institution, Utena UAS became a public institution.
In 2020, Utena UAS Statute was renewed and harmonized with the relevant provisions of the Law on Science and Studies of the Republic of Lithuania, which was approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on April 1, 2020, by resolution No 322.
Utena UAS activities are performed in Utena City.
