Guidelines

Guidelines for Oral Presentations

Requirements for Oral Presentations

Presentations must be delivered in English. The presentation may be delivered in the speaker’s native language; however, the slides must be prepared in English only.

The duration of each presentation is 12–15 minutes. It is recommended to allocate 10–12 minutes for the presentation and 2–3 minutes for discussion/questions.

A PC and TV screen will be provided for presentations.

Computers will have internet access.

The recommended presentation file formats are PowerPoint or PDF.

Presenters should bring their presentation file on a USB flash drive or other storage device.

Presenters are kindly requested to upload their presentation to the computer and introduce themselves to the session moderator at least 10 minutes before the start of the session.

Presenters who will participate remotely are kindly requested to submit their presentation files by email to conference@utenos-kolegija.lt  by 15 April 2026.

All presenters will be introduced to the audience by the session moderator.

Considering the 12–15 minute time limit, the recommended number of PowerPoint slides is approximately 15.

Recommendations for Oral Presentations

The presentation content should be well structured and include the following sections: title, introduction, methods, results, discussion, etc.

Avoid using full paragraphs of text on slides. Use bullet points or a structured outline, and elaborate on the content verbally.

Each slide should have a title summarizing the information presented. Create a logical flow throughout the presentation.

Use sans-serif fonts (e.g., Arial, Helvetica), as letters may lose clarity when projected on a screen.

Use the largest possible font size (24–36 pt), as small text is difficult to read.

It is recommended to use 1–3 graphical elements per slide. Too many graphics can distract the audience.

Avoid using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS in the text, as this may appear as shouting.

Combine text, images, and graphics – variety helps to maintain audience attention.

Slides are intended to support your presentation, not replace it. Do not read the text on the slides verbatim.
