The Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine is a structural part of the University, the main purpose and competence of which is to organise the studies, carry out applied research and train professionals possessing higher education and professional qualification in the study fields of Cosmetology, Oral Care, Nursing and Obstetrics,  Rehabilitation,  Social Work, who meet the social-economic demands of Utena Region and Lithuania.

The Faculty of Medicine is an open, modern, and constantly growing academic community where responsible, competent, and critically thinking health care and social welfare professionals are trained. In a changing world, it is important for us not only to pass on knowledge but also to develop the ability to analyse, collaborate, make responsible decisions, and act professionally and ethically. 

Studies at the Faculty are based on the unity of theorypractice and scienceWe aim for students not only to acquire professional knowledge and practical skillsbut also to understand the importance of science in practical activities, to be able to rely on evidencecritically evaluate information and apply it in professional activities.

It is important for us to educate a specialist who is not only a practitionerbut also a thinkinginterestedand constantly improving professional in their field. 

The Faculty of Medicine pays special attention to applied scientific activitiesevidence-based practiceinnovationacademic dialogue and collaboration.

We believe that progress is born when studiesscience and practice become a seamless process that encourages the search for solutionsthe creation of new ideas and the responsible response to the needs of society and the health system.
