The objective of Social Pedagogy study program is to prepare a specialist who can organize preventive work, work with pupils‘ groups and their families, educate communication and cooperation skills, promote the personal and professional development of the social pedagogue. The program aims at the development of a specialist who can help the pupils to adapt better to the society, educational institution, to use all opportunities provided for development, learning, growing and also to be able to form a team and work with the client's environment for the achievement of better educational results.

 Social Pedagogue is a person who works in social institutions, possesses the pedagogical education and can provide a child with conditions for the socialization, for the early prevention and social pedagogic rehabilitation.
After graduation of Social Pedagogy study programme, graduates will be able:
  1. Communicate in correct Lithuanian (both in written and verbal forms) in all the self-education environments.\
  2. Use at least one foreign language at no lower than B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for the academic and professional aims.
  3. Collect, process, analyze, summarize and interpret research findings, discuss them, formulate conclusions and recommendations of the research.  
  4. Identify education and training research problem; formulate the aim, the objectives and the hypotheses of the research.
  5. Create a secure, tolerant, open, encouraging learning in groups and cooperating environment, involving into interaction, a dialogue and partnership; the learner‘s emotional, social, intellectual, creative, spiritual development as well as the environment supporting the self-education.
  6. Communicate, cooperate and motivate the learners, parents (foster- parents), colleagues, representatives of the offices providing with social and education services, seeking for the common aims.  
  7. Evaluate the learner‘s learning development, acknowledging personal individuality, recognize individual learners‘ differences, arising due to their age, personality peculiarities, sex, social environment, language, nationality, culture, special self-education needs, etc., considering them in the self-education process.
  8. Organize preventive work.
  9. Organize and evaluate the work with the pupils and their groups.
  10. Assess and organize work with the pupils‘ families.
  11. Coordinate inter-institutional communication and cooperation.
  12. Assume the responsibility for own work results, evaluate their demand and consequences in the human values, respect for the human being, harmony, civic mindfulness, social responsibility and environmental protection aspects.
  13. Reflect on own pedagogic, andragogic or other education activity, identifies lacunae in one‘s knowledge and abilities, defines personal development trends and plan self-study.
  14. Use various learning tools, digital technologies and software/hardware, enhancing the variety of learning activities, self-education accessibility for every learner, involving into the learning in groups and learning based on the self-study in the self-education process.
  15. Improve the social educator professional and personal competencies.
