The objective of Electrical Energetics study programme is to prepare a highly skilled engineer of electrical energetic, specialist who is acquired professional bachelor, have sufficient knowledge, abilities and skills required for the global market for engineering activities, using the latest technology, who is ready for responsible professional activity in the constantly changing labor market, who follow the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania (hereinafter – RL) in their professional activity, apply optimal and safe work of installation, adjusting and exploitation of electric and automation equipment, would monitor the quality of activity, would plan and organise the activity of an energetic subdivision, would apply information technologies, would know how to develop a project of electrical networks or automation systems. By choosing the specialization of Electric Distribution Networks, would be able to project, automate and exploit the electric distribution networks, and by choosing the specialization of Enterprise Electric Economy, would be able to project and exploit the electric network of an enterprise.

The graduates of Eletrical Energetics study programme will be able to work in the various branches of electrical engineering:

  • Perform and organize works in power-stations, substations, electricity lines and users electricity devices, security and automatic devices, measurement control systems installation;
  • Maintain the devices of electrical energetic objects and repair them;
  • Organize activities of business enterprise (subdivision) technological management.
After completion of Eletrical Energetics study programme, a graduate:

  1. Knowledge:

1.1. Will know basic fields of natural science and mathematical regularities and laws, will associate analysing the parameters of electrical circuits and though calculation methods;

1.2. Will know the possible constructional solutions of cables and overhead lines and their implementation;

1.3. Will know the structure of electrical networks, the principles of selection of the structural schemes of the electrical part of electric power stations and substations, will analyse the equipment;

1.4. Will know the kinds of electrical network schemes and the principles of their formation and the appropriateness of use;

1.5. Will be able to calculate the necessary power of power electricity network elements, technological input of electric power;

1.6. Will know the substations schemes of own needs and will understand how to choose their elements;

1.7. Will analyse the elements of electric network in different modes, will know the methods of calculation of normal and post-emergency modes;

1.8. Will be able to work with various application software;

1.9. Will be aware of the stages of projecting and the documentation composition of the electro technical part of a project;

1.10. Will know the safety requirements for various works regarding installation and starting works, will select the measures to guarantee the safety of the people at work, will understand the issues of fire-safety, environment protection and ecology requirements in regard to the constructional activity of installation;

1.11. Will know the rules and procedures on how to approve an electric device to be suitable for usage, will know the obligatory scope of Project and exploitation documentation and the order of transferring the executed installation works to the customer;

1.12. Will understand the importance of the working mode maintenance of electric power stations and electric networks equipment, the work scope of operation work and the maintenance of the exploited electrical devices, and also the requirements to guarantee their safe functioning.

2.1. Will be able to find necessary professional information by using databases and other scientific and engineering information resources;

2.2. Will assess the indicators of electricity network element reliability, will assess the effectiveness of electric power consumption;

2.3. Will analyse technical economic rationale of the solutions taken, will present practical conclusions of the results;

  1. Special abilities:

3.1. Will design a technical project of an electro technical part of a simple object, will select equipment, will provide economic estimates taking into account the ethical, environmental and commercial considerations;

3.2. Will know the installation of electrical equipment, engineering pre-preparation of the work, will be able to organise economically and execute the installation of equipment taking into account core labor and fire safety requirements;

3.3. Will be able to operate the power supply units, following methodological guidelines will manage technical documentation;

3.4. Will identify common breakdowns and violations of electric equipment, will analyse the technologies and peculiarities of electric equipment repair, will design the needs plans for the repair, technical maintenance, complex testing of electric equipment and the demand for spare parts.

Graduates who have chosen Specialization of Electric Distribution Networks:

3.5. Will be able to evaluate the importance of electric quality assurance in the exploitation and projecting of electric networks. Will examine the order of preparation of conditions;

3.6. Will be able to analyse electricity network, to design a network recovery scheme, to carry out calculations and to select the elements of primary and secondary circuits of electricity networks. Will know the measures to maintain the quality of electricity;

3.7. Will understand the purpose of the primary, own-needs, link protection and automation, remote control, signal and blocking devices, the selection of an economically grounded version and will be able to present technical and economic argumentation of the decisions taken, will understand the conditions for safe exploitation, will examine the design of principle and installation schemes of link protection and automation;

3.8. Will know the fundamentals of Logical Algebra. Will analyse the application possibilities of the programming and diagnostic principles of universal and special logical controllers;

3.9. Will know the requirements for the exploitation and urgent maintenance of the primary devices, link protection and automation, remote control, will know the principles for repair need identification, work safety requirements to exploit electric devices, the first aid delivery requirements.

Graduates who have chosen Specialization of Enterprise Electric Economy:

3.10. Will be able to read the project drawings and electric schemes and will analyse technical documentation;

3.11. Will select the elements of power and lighting circuits and will safely exploit power and lighting networks;

3.12. Will keep the record of electric power and will identify the most effective working modes of electric devices;

3.13. Will understand the duties and responsibility of an electric power consumer;

3.14. Will know the qualification of the staff maintaining enterprise economy;

3.15. Will know the fundamentals of the safety theory of electrical machinery and will understand general and safety tests;Will understand general and reliability tests and will perform the calculations of the safety indicators of electric machinery;
