Free Studies for Citizens of Ukraine

In order to contribute to the support of Ukrainian citizens affected by the war, Utena University of Applied Sciences is committed and ready to accept 20 students* from Ukraine from 1 September 2022 and to pay for their studies at the Utena UAS expense.

SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS

Documents can be submitted free of charge directly to the Utena UAS, 7 Maironio str., room 26 or by e-mail to admission@utenos-kolegija.lt

Applicants shall submit the following documents:

  • a completed application for studies in the prescribed form (Annex);
  • certified copies of a personal identity document;
  • certified true copies of documents attesting at least secondary education (certificate, diploma, their annexes, appendices, certificate of studies) in the original language. If the documents are not in English or Russian, a translation of the educational document (certificate, diploma, study certificate) and its annex into Lithuanian, Russian or English must also be provided;
  • copies of the document certifying the change of name and/or surname, certified in accordance with the prescribed procedure, if the educational documents were issued under a different name and/or surname;
  • the decision of the Centre for Quality Assessment of Studies (www.skvc.lt) on the academic recognition of the foreign qualification;
  • a certified copy of documents attesting a level of proficiency in a foreign (English and/or Russian) language(s) (if applicable) of at least B1/B2 or of the certificate of an international foreign language examination in accordance with the established procedures;

Each admission case is individual and will be assessed on its own merits.

For Those Wishing to Study in State-Funded Places Through Centralised Admission Information System (LAMA BPO)

Persons from Ukraine, as well as other persons who have acquired education in foreign institutions, may be admitted by competition to state-funded study places in Lithuanian higher education institutions or apply for study grants, if they are available:

  • Citizens of the Republic of Lithuania, other Member States of the European Union or countries of the European Economic Area, and their family members;
  • citizens and stateless persons who have a permanent residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania of foreign states that are not members of the European Union and other countries of the European Economic Area;
  • foreign Lithuanians;
  • who have passed the Lithuanian language test at a level not lower than B2.

Accomodation

Students will have the opportunity to live in the Student House of Utena UAS. The cost of accommodation may be partially reimbursed. Each case is individual and will be assessed on its own merits.

Lithuanian Language Courses

Utenos kolegija / Utena University of Applied Sciences, together with the Education Exchanges Support Foundation, organizes Lithuanian language courses for Ukrainian researchers and educators.

Course date: 12 September 2022 until 09 December 2022.

The volume of learning - 180 hour.

The participants of the course will be introduced to the peculiarities of the Lithuanian language, will acquire A1 level writing, reading, listening and speaking skills in the Lithuanian language, will learn the main phrases that are useful in everyday life. During the educational events you will get acquainted with Lithuanian symbols, stages of history, ethnoculture, the most important celebrations and traditions.

The courses will take place in face-to-face classes at Utenos kolegija / Utena University of Applied Sciences (Maironio street 7, Utena).

Courses are FREE.

A certificate confirming the training will be issued.

Participants have to submit the following documents upon registration:

  • Motivation letter. In the motivation letter, participants should answer what benefit would the Lithuanian language and culture courses have for the participant’s further career and / or personal development.
  • An identity document and resident’s permit issued by the Migration Department under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania or a valid travel document, or other documents entitling them to enter and stay in Lithuania. The date of issue of these documents should not be earlier than 24 February 2022.
  • Lecturers of science and study institutions, researchers, employees of the education system in all fields, students: a document proving the status or a copy of it (a copy of a student’s certificate, a copy of an education, employment contract, a document of a researcher’s qualification or other documents).

Other Information

Those who are continuing their studies in Ukrainian higher education institutions remotely, but who have come to the Republic of Lithuania due to hostilities and have declared their place of residence here, will be able to use the Internet and library resources at Utena College.
